This paper presents a methodology to estimate renewable energy carrying capacity to a target power system. Considering power system reliability and renewable energy source variability, certain amount of carrying capacity can be derived. In this paper, voltage, load flow and dynamic stability has been covered to derive power system carrying capacity. To implement variability of renewable energy source, probability density function and Monte-Carlo simulation has been used. With those limits, certain amount of carrying capacity can be derived and the methodology has been verified in IEEE 39 bus test system. |
